Pianist Sohyun Park is renowned for her captivating storytelling through piano performances and teaching.

Born in South Korea, Sohyun moved to the UK at nine, where she began studying the piano. She progressed with stunning speed. By thirteen she had been accepted to Chetham’s School of Music, a prestigious boarding school in Manchester with a reputation of turning out top highly talented musicians. After graduating, Sohyun was awarded a scholarship to The Royal College of Music, where she not only received a Bachelor of Music degree with Honors, but also a Masters of Music in Performance with Distinction.
While attending the Royal College of Music, Sohyun was named as the Norfolk Young Musician of the Year (2011), qualified as a semi-finalist in the Bromsgrove Festival, the Norah Sande Award, and Tunbridge Wells competition and won the piano prize in the Chappell Medal Competition. Her winning streak did not end upon graduation. In 2016, Sohyun took first prize in the Oxford Music Festival, won 3rd prize of the Alion Baltic Music competition this August 2017, in 2018 3rd Prize at the Piano Island Festival and in 2019 she won 2nd Prize of Nice Cote d’Azur Piano Concour.
Despite her numerous awards, Sohyun is not merely a contest winner – she’s a consummate performer. Hailed as “Most impressive,” by the Evening News, her performances are applauded for their emotional breadth and exquisite narrative scope. Sohyun has the ability to pull her audience into the story of music in a way that few other performers can. This unique connection with her audience in addition to her impressive showing in the festival and competition circuit continues to win Sohyun many loyal fans. She has toured professionally both throughout the UK at venues such as The Royal Albert Hall, St. James Piccadilly and on international stages (Turkey, Bulgaria, Estonia, Italy, France, Germany, Reunion Island, Russia and USA).
In 2022 to 2023, she has performed concertos with orchestras such as Nice Cote d’Azur Symphony Orchestra and UK Wymondham Symphony Orchestra. In coming 2024 she will give concert tour throughout UK and internationally along with her new CD Album release in autumn.
